Handcrafted Cherry Wood Celtic Palm Size Lucet

Dave hand crafted this lucet out of Cherry wood. It is 4 inches long by 2 inches wide. The copper embellishment is inset (not glued on surface) and he has burn etched the celtic design by hand.

This smaller lucet is just right for small hands and finer cord braiding. A Lucet fork is an ancient tool dating back to the Viking era. It is used for braiding cord. Lucet cord can be used for draw-string such as for bags or purses, decorative edging, and any other use where strong cord is needed. You can find more on the internet about lucets and how to use one, including photos.

This piece has been initialed and dated by Dave and is currently up for auction on Ebay.

Time Squared

Since discovering Steampunk style design, I've been quietly trying to figure out how to make it "Grizzly" style. Some of my pieces are the usual vintage Bakelite buttons and watch parts, but I'm trying to incorporate more organic materials to give it a tribal feel.

The "Time Squared" piece featured above, was created with carved bone, African trade copper and vintage watch movements. I know there are some hard core watch collectors that cringe at the cannibalism that's required, but rest assured, all of the watches I use are unrepairable.

I've created a "Steampunk Grizzly Style" section in our Etsy.com shop and will be adding to it slowly in the future.

New eBay Listings!

Jo has just listed two new necklaces on eBay!

The first, is this Celtic Fish Pendant that she created from earthenware clay. The pendant had an oregano glaze added before it's final firing. Jo likes to use as many organic materials as possible in her jewelry and this pendant shows it. There are gorgeous turquoise beads, carved bone, very old Bauxite African trade beads and African trade copper. The jump rings are Hill Tribe silver (99.9% solid silver).
