New Vintage Tibetan Beads Added to our Cache!

We have just added the most amazing vintage beads to our "Grizzly Mountain Cache" supply shop at Etsy.com.

The Nepalese Tibetan yak bone beads are from a very old mala and are inlayed with turquoise, coral and silver. Mala (prayer beads) are strings of beads used as an aid to prayer and the recitation of mantras in the Buddhist religion. These beads were made by Tibetans in Bouddha Stupa which is in Kathmandu, Nepal.

The vintage bodhi seed beads were also made in Kathmandu, Nepal and are inlayed with turquoise, coral, brass and copper. Bodhi seeds, are seeds from the Buddha wisdom tree.

These items are currently for sale along with some other new additions in our Etsy.com shop! Please click the link below if you would like to view these beads.

Hitty Doll Sweetgrass Basket

Dave has made several Hitty dolls in the past, and for lovers of the book "Hitty, Her First Hundred Years" by Rachel Field, this basket will be familiar as Hitty spent quite a bit of time hidden in a similar one. If you have never read this book, you should! It is quite the adventure story for young and old alike! This basket measures about 6 inches in diameter and about 3 inches in height. The portrait of Hitty on the lid was done using pyrography (burn etching) and painted. The book shown in the photos is not included and is for display purposes only.
