Goncalo Alves, Birch and Mesquite Tibetan Support Spindle


This Tibetan support spindle is approximately 12 1/2 inches long and weighs 50g (1.8 ounces). The Goncalo Alves whorl measures approximately 1.75 inches and has been attached to a Birch shaft. The tip has been crafted from hard Mesquite. An additional photos can be found at the Etsy listing.

Cherry, Walnut and Honduran Rosewood Tibetan Support Spindle


This Tibetan support spindle is approximately 12 1/2 inches long and weighs 38g (1.3 ounces). The Cherry whorl measures approximately 1.75 inches and has been attached to a Walnut shaft. The tip has been crafted from Honduran Rosewood. Additional photos can be viewed at the Etsy listing.

Ceramic Support Spinning Bowl


This beautiful blue support spinning bowl measures 3 inches in diameter across the bottom with a recessed well to support the spindle on top. We are making our support spinning bowls in a variety of glazes and no two pieces ever come out of the kiln the same. This earthy blue support bowl is one of my favorites and can be found in our Grizzly Mountain Arts Etsy Shop.

Dave crafted this 3 1/4 inch tatting shuttle from a piece of beautiful Tiger Maple. I think you can see why its called Tiger Maple. The patterns seem to change with the different angles of the light hitting it. Dave also went through my stash of vintage buttons and found one that looked like a little piece of tatting, so he carved a recess and inset it into this shuttle. Bone Toothbrush Rug Needle


Dave crafted this beautiful toothbrush rug
needle from bone. Originally, this style of rug needle was made from old toothbrushes, that is until they stopped making them with a hole in the handle. More photos of this needle may been seen at the Etsy listing.

Walnut French Reproduction Support Spindle with Fossil Walrus Ivory


Walnut is the wood that Dave chose for this beautiful French reproduction supported spindle. This spindle measures 12 inches long and weights 1.8 (52g) ounces. Dave has adorned this spindle with fossil walrus ivory accents. This spindle also features a groove and slot style tip for holding the yarn twist. Cocobolo Lace Pattern Pricker Pin Vise Tool


Dave crafted this lovely pin vise tool which is currently up for auction on Ebay, from Cocobolo wood. It measures 2 inches long, not counting the pin.

Cocobolo Wood Tatting Shuttle


Dave has handcrafted this 3 inch flat style tatting shuttle from Cocobolo wood which has a beautiful flaming pattern in the wood. It has a satin hand rubbed bees wax finish. You can find this beautiful tatting shuttle up for auction at Ebay.com.

Brass Picot Gauge Set with Cocobolo Case


After a break for the holidays, Dave is getting his auction listings back up and running. He's also been having a lot of fun making new friends over at the Ravelry.com site.
Several of you had asked Dave when he would be crafting another of his brass picot gauge sets. This one's a beauty! The case is Cocobolo wood and measures 3 ¼ inch long. The gauges are brass 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 and ¼ inch round tubes that all slide together to fit neatly in the case. He has also added a 2 inch picot gauge ruler that also fits in the case with the tube gauges. More photos of this set can be found at the Ebay auction listing.

Ceramic and Walnut Lap Support Spinning Bowl


This ceramic bowl measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter, and the walnut base is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches in length. "Monet's Garden" is the glaze that was used on the earthenware clay inner bowl. Felt dots on the bottom keep the wood from scratching your chair.
