Medieval Norse Fossil Mammoth Ivory Nalbinding Needles

It's been awhile since we listed new fossil mammoth ivory nalbinding needles for sale. These beautifully crafted tools can now be found in our Big Cartel shop. We will be selling all of our fossil ivory items in this shop exclusively, so be sure and check in often to see what other fiber tools Dave has been making. You will find a handy tab at the top of this post that will take you directly to our Big Cartel shop. Thanks for checking it out!

New Handspinning Tools on Etsy

We will have an update to our Etsy shop tomorrow, Monday, at 2pm Pacific time that will include a carved moose antler spindle, four alternative ivory spindles and an acorn spindle. If our unreliable internet goes down we will post the new spindles as soon as possible. We are trying to get some last minute camping, fishing and other fun things like house painting done before winter arrives and this just works best for us. Until further notice, we will only be posting new items on Mondays.

Monday

New Alternative Ivory Support Spindles

These three support spindles are Dave's latest handspinning tools. They each feature an alternative ivory whorl that has been intricately carved with one of his signature motifs. The wood used for the shaft of each support spindle is katalox. These spindles have already been sold in our Grizzly Mountain Arts Etsy shop, but if you are interested in buying one, please join our Facebook group or our Ravelry group for updates on upcoming listings.

Handi-Wind Wooden Tatting Shuttle©

Dave has specially designed this "Handi-Wind" tatting shuttle with a screw-in finger hold that aides in loading the shuttle without slipping out of your hand. It is particularly useful for tatters with arthritis and those who just have "all thumbs". To help keep track of the handle, Dave has added an eye and jump ring so it can be worn around the neck with a cord or ribbon.

This shuttle is 2 3/8 inches long and was handcrafted out of red leaf curly maple, and the handle is walnut. Dave has adorned one side of this shuttle with a pyrographed oak leaf and acorn.
